Derbyshire County Council update from Sarah Dines MP:
''Yesterday I was briefed by the leader of Derbyshire County Councillor Barry Lewis and Council officers on a number of matters.
They have put out £730,000 on small business grants to local businesses and those that have not been paid yet will be paid by the end of next week.
I was so pleased to hear about the great work of the local resilience forum and the community response units and the work they are doing across a number of areas to respond to COVID-19.
The County Council are working very hard to keep services going in very difficult circumstances. I was reassured they are still working hard to make sure they are safeguarding vulnerable children and families despite some staff needing to sell isolate. As you know this is a particular interest of mine.
They also set out their process for emergency delivery of PPE to local GPs and care homes and how they are working with other agencies. I have been telephoning local GP surgeries, care homes and pharmacies and am being kept fully informed.
I am truly thankful for the huge effort being put in by everyone concerned. Thank you Barry and your fantastic teams. More information can be found on the County Council website:
