Parking of HGVs and other large vehicles outside of Preston’s Garage on Derby Rd has caused unsafe conditions for road users for a very long time. Following intervention from Sarah Dines MP double yellow lines have been installed and going forward the road should be much safer.
Sarah Dines MP, ‘I know that the parking of large vehicles outside of Preston’s Garage has caused great anxiety and worry for residents and road users as it made the road and footpath very unsafe. I was contacted by Mr Preston, who had been trying to get the issue rectified for a very long time. I am delighted that due to my intervention double yellow lines have now been installed and I hope that going forward the road is safer for all users. I must thank County Councillor Simon Spencer for his dedication in getting this issue resolved. Going forward I will be asking the local Police to ensure that the road markings are adhered to.’
