Beauty salons, nail bars, tattoo and massage studios, physical therapy businesses and spas across England will be able to reopen safely from Monday 13th July under new government plans announced 9th July.
Sarah said, ‘I am delighted to say that our much loved close contact businesses such as Beauty salons, nail bars, tattoo and massage studios, physical therapy businesses and spas across Derbyshire Dales will be able to open from 13TH July.
Updated COVID-19 secure guidance sets out the measures that those providing close contact services should follow to protect staff and customers. Only services that do not involve work in the highest risk zone – directly in front of the face – should be made available to clients. Businesses will only be able to open from these dates once they have completed a risk assessment and are confident they are managing the risks. They must have taken the necessary steps to become COVID-19 secure in line with the current Health and Safety legislation.
Local business owners have been writing to me on opening these industries and during my visit on 27th June to Baslow Beauty Salon, with Cllr Susan Hobson, it was clear to me how ready and prepared local businesses are to reopen and get the economy moving. I have been greatly encouraged to see all varieties of businesses I have visited taking social distancing guidance seriously and keeping their customers and staff as safe as possible. I am absolutely delighted to be able to give these important local businesses this good news and look forward to visiting as many as possible in the coming weeks and months.
Enabling these often small, independent businesses to reopen is yet another step in our plan to kickstart the economy to support jobs and incomes across Derbyshire Dales.’
