Sarah Dines MP held her first jobs fair for those over 50 in Darley Dale on the 14th October. This event was the first of three events for jobseekers over the age of 50, with further events scheduled at Bakewell Town Hall on the 21st October and Hulland Ward Millennium Hall on the 4th November.
Sarah Dines MP commented: “I know from talking to many of my constituents and also many of the local Derbyshire Dales businesses, that there is a real need and an appetite for events such as my over 50s Jobs Fair. It was fantastic to hold an event at the centre of my constituency at the Whitworth Centre on Friday 14th October and for it to be so well attended by businesses, local charities and job seekers. I wanted to make sure that this event was as useful as possible to employers and jobseekers alike, so I ensured that CV and interview training workshops were also provided.
Career changes later in your working life can be really daunting, so I wanted to make the event a friendly space for businesses and potential employees to meet and to get to know each other. I am so grateful to all the businesses, charities and local organisations such as the Police, who were in attendance and to every constituent who came. If you are interested but could not make the last event, I have further events scheduled at Bakewell Town Hall on the 21st October and Hulland Ward Millennium Hall on the 4th November, it would be great to see you there.’’
