On Friday 14th January, Sarah Dines MP visited the team at Caudwell’s Mill in Rowsley .
Sarah Dines MP said, ‘I was delighted to be invited to visit Caudwell’s Mill in Rowsley on Friday by representatives of the Trust. I was treated to an interesting tour with a great historical context being given by my guides. County Councillor Sue Hobson was also present. Sue has a great deal of involvement with the project as she is a trustee. I was able to learn a lot about the history of corn milling at the Mill and the present operations, which include a cafe, artist, metal worker and craft shop. Caudwell’s Mill generate their own electricity to use on site. Once they have used what they need to, the rest goes to the national grid, which means that their environmental impact is greatly reduced. I will most certainly visit again and do what I can to support the valuable conservation and educational works carried out at this wonderful venue.
Thank you to Sue, Tony and Richard who guided me on the tour. Caldwell’s Mill is well worth a visit!’
