Following an invitation from Sarah Dines MP, Trudy Harrison, Minister for Natural Environment and Land Use, met with Peak District farmers, and senior staff from the National Park Authority during a visit to the White Peak in Derbyshire on Thursday.
Sarah Dines MP commented: “In my regular meetings with the Peak District National Park, I suggested that it may be beneficial to invite the minister to view all their work. It was so wonderful to be able to show off Derbyshire Dales to Minister Harrison, who is so passionate about our National Parks and making them work for those that live in them.
I know the Peak District National Park Authority team welcomed the opportunity to talk directly to the minister and to discuss the successes of their ongoing projects and introducing the minister to the unique environment of Derbyshire Dales.
We are so lucky to have the Peak District National Park; it is a beautiful place to live and work. Being within a national park is not always easy when it comes to planning and other matters, so it was a wonderful opportunity to discuss this directly with the minister. Thank you to Minister Harrison and everyone who attended this very worthwhile meeting.’’
