On Friday 14th January, Sarah Dines MP met both AshCom and the Ashbourne Town Team.
Sarah Dines MP said, ‘I was delighted to be invited to meet AshCom to discuss their Shrovetide Walk plans, on their work to date on Henmore Walk and many of their future projects. One thing I love about Ashbourne is how proud residents are to call it home, as they should be. I love meeting constituents who are passionate about making positive changes to where they live and put so much time and effort into improving the area for everyone. I want to thank the AshCom members for inviting me to meet them.
I also spent time on Friday with the Ashbourne Town Team who are currently working on many exciting projects and potential bids which could see major refurbishment to the town. They are working towards seeing significant improvements to managing our traffic problems and enhancements to the public realm to make the town a better and safer place for pedestrians. Working on these initiatives take a lot of time and dedication and they should be applauded for putting in the work.
I want to reassure Ashbourne residents that the plans for the Bypass are still ongoing and I have recently written to the council for an update on where they are with this project. A bypass in Ashbourne would improve the town significantly, for pedestrians and road users alike.’
